Review of Songs of a Suffering King: The Grand Christ Hymn of Psalms 1-8

Standard

The author takes you into each selected psalm tenderly and personally. Who has not suffered spiritual attacks, felt that God’s promise is far away, and been abused verbally? But does that mean our futures are destroyed by these people and their actions? No, our futures are intact in God’s hands, just as we learn to trust him fully for our salvation, we learn to trust him for all the small things in our everyday lives.

Pray that unbelievers repent, pray that God’s wrath be justified in the lives of unrepentant unbelievers. God is not just a loving God but he is just and will condemn those who unrepentantly reject him.

Pray and weep for your sins, but do not run away from your sin. Instead, run to the cross for your sins.

When falsely accused, remember Christ on the cross, how he was falsely accused.

Review of The Home Team by Clint Archer

Standard

Your family has an objective. What is it? You have to find out yourselves instead of running around with no clear cut aim and direction at all.

Commitment is important, more than me time, and time with other friends. Prioritise real interaction with your family and leave gadgets, tvs and all outside if family time. These should and can wait.

Those who seek to Honor God with their families and want to build biblically strong and emotionally satisfying families should read this book.
